This print was done using drypoint. A drypoint needle is used to scratch lines into a plate to create a burr. The plate is then covered with ink and wiped clean, leaving ink caught in the burr that was scratched into it. Because the pressure of the printing press flattens the burr, this technique usually has smaller runs.
